Applying Stakeholder Theory in Sustainability Management: Links, Similarities, Dissimilarities, and a Conceptual Framework : Jacob Hörisch, R. Edward Freeman, and Stefan Schaltegger

"We identify three challenges of managing stakeholder relationships for sustainability: strengthening the particular sustainability interests of stakeholders, creating mutual sustainability interests based on these particular interests, and empowering stakeholders to act as intermediaries for nature and sustainable development."

Carrying the concept of multisolving through some of today's challenges, we will consider the following:

1. How we might strengthen the particular sustainability interests of others

2. how we might create mutual sustainability interests based on these interests

3. How we might empower stakeholders to act as intermediaries for nature and sustainable development. 

Consider the above three elements throughout our studies in this course. Expect a future exam to ask you to name one of the three challenges and thoroughly explain what it means IN ACTION. Examples: #1 We can strengthen the sustainability interests of others through.....#2 We can help create mutual sustainability interests through....#3 We can empower stakeholders to act as intermediaries for nature and sustainable development through....
