01/17/2020 13:54

Homework for this week, to be reviewed by February 3rd (Monday)

Read this article on the effects of cultural devastation. When corporations or governments disrupt the lands of the indigenous, we all lose something. "Managing for sustainability" comprises studies to preserve as much of what is good, and what rightfully belongs to and on the earth, as possible.

The topic of, and all the news surrounding "sustainability"  tends to induce anxiety in some individuals, so we're going to start with a broad view of the issues.

Let's think together about the meaning behind words we use all the time.

What IS Sustainability? How do you define "Management"?  How many professional and academic disciplines are encompassed in sustainable endeavors?

Our first week, we examine the complexity of the concept of sustainability. Each of us will have a specific perspective based on our training and experience. The collaborative approach to learning helps us interact with one another, broadening our collective understanding of a tough subject (or series of topics).
